Since 2010, Siddhartha PU College has prepared Bhatkal's students for medicine, engineering and commerce.
Our story
Founded by a soldier, in 2009
Siddhartha Education Trust (Reg.), Bhatkal, was established in August 2009 under the leadership of Captain K.R. Naik. A disciplined soldier, he served in the Indian Army and retired as Deputy Director of the Department of Soldier Welfare and Rehabilitation — and began the trust with one goal: quality education for the students of Bhatkal taluk.
With the support of accomplished lecturers, retired educators and fellow trustees, Siddhartha Pre-University College, Bhatkal, opened in 2010 with just 12 students. A newspaper feature counted about 850 science students in five sections — one of the largest science colleges in Uttara Kannada — and 100% board results four years running. In April 2026 the college moved into its new building at Sonarkeri, Bhatkal.

Siddhartha Education Trust registered in Bhatkal by Captain K.R. Naik.
2010
Siddhartha PU College, Bhatkal, and Siddhartha English Medium High School, Shirali, open.
2014
Siddhartha International Public School begins, with a focus on Mathematics, Science and Hindi.
2016
Siddhartha First Grade College (B.Sc. and B.Com.) opens at Panchavati, Shirali.
2025
2nd PUC: 99% at Bhatkal, 100% at Shirali. NEET, JEE and KCET firsts in Uttara Kannada.
2026
New building at Sonarkeri inaugurated (26 April); 100% 2nd PUC result; Job Coaching Centre opens.
